Workflow
Workflows are used to automate fundamental operations that may be summarized with a single if/then statement, which states that if certain conditions are met, the related actions will be performed; otherwise, they will not. These activities can either be Immediate Actions that occur right away or Time-Dependent Actions that occur at a particular time. In the case of a Time-Dependent Action, the criteria is re-evaluated at the stated time before the action is performed, and if the criteria is determined to be false, the Time-Dependent Action will not be performed; otherwise, it will be performed. Process Builder
Process Builder is the most recent Salesforce automation product that allows you to automate practically all of your business processes in the background. You don't
interact with the process; instead, you simply get the results after it's completed. It has all of the features of workflows except the ability to send outward messages without using Apex code. It can handle several if/then statements and conduct different-different actions based on conditional statements in a single process, whereas multiple Workflow would be required. It can be started when a record is generated or updated, or it can be initiated by another process or a platform event. It can be used to generate new records, tasks, emails, chatter messages, submit records for approval, change any linked records, and call Apex.

Flow Builder (Flow)
Complex automation activities that involve user input and numerous levels of branching logic are well suited for Flow Builder (Flow). In Visual Workflow, there are two types of flows: Screen Flow and Auto launched Flow. Screen Flow is a tool for creating a wizard with a screen that collects data from users and performs actions based on that data through a number of steps in your Salesforce org or an external system. A user action, such as clicking a link or pressing a button, initiates the flow. Auto launched Flow, like other automation technologies, is used to launch flow in the background. It is used to carry out a complex business process and is referred to as a Process. Changes to a record cannot be used to start a flow. Calling them via Salesforce Process Builder, a Visual force page or Apex code are all options. Flows can also be used to remove records from a database.

Approvals
In Salesforce, the Approval Process automates the procedures required for a record to be authorized and assigns an approver to each stage. It describes what happens when a record is submitted for approval, when an approver or all approvers approve the record, and when an approver rejects a record. Field Update, Email Alert, Create Task, and Outbound Message are all activities that can be done using the Approval Process. Initial Submission Actions occur whenever a user requests permission, and the record is locked so that other users cannot edit it while approval is pending. If the approver rejects the request, the Final Rejection Actions are performed, and the approval status is changed to Rejected.
